It will take time and practice but, after all, anything worth having does. And, of course, there will be new problems and difficult situations along the way but as long as you stay focused to maintain a positive attitude the long term rewards will be life changing.
There will be days when you find yourself allowing your old habits to appear and negative thoughts to creep in but the secret is not to give up.
